Dance For The Kids – How This Student Helped Raise Money for the Children’s Miracle Network

On the weekend of March 3 and 4, Florida State University (FSU) hosted their 23rd annual Dance Marathon where they aim to raise $2 million to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN).

If you’re unfamiliar with FSU’s DM, please feel free to watch this video:

We had the pleasure of partnering with one of FSU’s brightest and most giving students, Zoe G., to help her raise money for the CMN. This was Zoe’s fourth year dancing and fundraising for Dance Marathon.

What does the Dance Marathon mean to Zoe?

When asked what the Dance Marathon means to Zoe, she replied matter-of-factly, “I dance so kids can live to have another birthday. The money we raise really does make a difference in their time at the hospital and their treatment. Even $5 makes such a big difference… If I don’t help them, who will?”

Isn’t that simply empowering?!

The year-long effort that Dance Marathon is, culminates with their annual 40-hour event, where more than 1,800 students stay up and on their feet to raise money and awareness.

Over the past 22 years, Dance Marathon at FSU, has raised nearly $10 million for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shands Children’s Hospital, and the FSU College of Medicine.

In 2017 alone, the Dance Marathon raised a grand total of $1,830.167.28 for the kids!

We wanted to participate in such a great event, so we sponsored Zoe! For every Facebook “Like” and Instagram “Follow” her friends gave Dlyted, we donated 200 points to the Dance Marathon.

Zoe was excited for this collaboration because it’s so easy to get social for a good cause.

But why is Zoe so passionate about giving back?

“I feel as though those of us who are so fortunate to be happy and healthy, have a right to help others in need. The world NEEDS to become a happier, nicer place, and I hope that I can be a part of making that change,” Zoe wrote.

We had to ask Zoe our favorite question:

“If you could donate a billion dollars to any cause or organization, what would it be?”

Her response?

She would donate:

“I admire the work all three of these place do, and I believe they truly want to help make the world a better place, one kid at a time.”

We were so honored to help Zoe give back to her favorite causes, and she wanted to express her love for us!

“I love that Dlyted is able to understand that although people do want to donate money, they are not always in the position to give. Dlyted makes it so that everyone is able to give back, whether they have the extra funds to spend or not.”

Well, there you have it!

Due to our sponsorship of Zoe, we were able to donate an extra $21 just for getting social!

Special thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support for Zoe on our social media platforms.

We cannot wait to do a promotion like this again! Do you want to be sponsored by Dlyted, in order to raise funds for a cause you care deeply about? Feel free to connect with us on social! We’d love to help out.
